Very few things compare to the smooth, spongy, buttery pleasure that is found in properly cooked bone marrow. I do not know what you call it in your language but in Luo we call it Ondhudho. Just like whole nut chocolate and avocado, (currently baecado) Ondhudho holds a special place on my palate. Note the reverent use of the capital O. My calculations begin as early as in the butchery where I go for my weekly supply of meat. With Osso Bucco for instance, there is bound to be an abundance of bone marrow especially now that my sons have been indoctrinated into the cult of marrow lovers. Initially they would watch in amazement whenever I would suck out that oily goodness with the one-time precision of a sharp shooter. There is nothing worse than trying to retrieve bone marrow only for it to end up falling on the plate or on your lap. Either that or for some reason you can only manage to suck it out in bits instead of one successful 'Vloop' followed by a satisfied 'Aahh.'; ...
